Novice

Country of Origin: Ireland https://www.instagram.com/novice_jess/

Novice has been drawing since she could hold a pencil, bringing a sketch pad (or most likely a copybook in the early days) everywhere. She got my first little portable watercolour set at 7, and thanks to the creative encouragement from her parents she kept creating and off I went to Art college.

Years later after doing an illustration course, a chance encounter with spray paint, and urban art collective Evolve Urban Art, she was now, somehow, a street artist, and a very very newborn one at that!
Thanks to a lot of great opportunities, practice and getting to work alongside some of the best artists working in Ireland, Novice learned some skills. She didn’t have an artist name in the early days and for 2 reasons she named herself Novice. One, because she was greener than a shamrock on Paddy’s Day and two, because she is a firm believer in the fact that we should always be a novice. Never stop learning,  that fuels improvement, challenges and opens your mind.

Wall owner scheme closing on November 30th.
